The News’ analysis found trauma care in the U.S. More recent research from the past several years suggests the critical window is closer to a half-hour for severely bleeding patients, whose risk of dying grows with each minute they don’t receive blood and other crucial treatments.Ībove-average proportions of people dying of their injuries before they reach a hospital indicate more lives could potentially be saved, researchers say. Injured patients routinely bleed out before reaching a doctor, despite scientific advances that make blood transfusions on ambulances possible.įor decades, trauma specialists posited that seriously wounded patients should be treated at an equipped hospital within the “golden hour” immediately following their injuries. Nationwide, paramedics often lack the tools they need to treat severe internal bleeding, and patients have sporadic access to lifesaving interventions like blood transfusions before arriving at a hospital. Yet medical specialists argue it receives little federal funding for research that could help improve outcomes compared with other leading causes of death. Traumatic injury is the top killer of children and adults under the age of 45, claiming the life of an American about every 3½ minutes. As a result, patients are more likely to succumb to their injuries before reaching a hospital, according to an analysis of federal data by The Dallas Morning News, in collaboration with medical researchers from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.Įach year, medical researchers estimate tens of thousands of Americans bleed to death despite having injuries they could have survived, a reality that trauma physicians have decried as a health crisis. Our verification from the American College of Surgeons’ Committee on Trauma demonstrates our unwavering commitment to the highest standards of quality, patient-centered, outcome-focused trauma care.Unlike urban areas where trauma hospitals are easily accessible, in this part of the country injured patients can be several hours away from help. Like their predecessors Pioneer 10 and 11, which featured a simple plaque, both Voyager 1 and Voyager 2 were launched by NASA with a message aboard-a kind of time capsule, intended to communicate to extraterrestrials a story of the world of humans on Earth. Both Voyager 1 and Voyager 2 have reached interstellar space, the region between stars where the galactic plasma is present. The Voyager 1 probe is currently the farthest human-made object from Earth. Ĭarl Sagan noted that "The spacecraft will be encountered and the record played only if there are advanced space-faring civilizations in interstellar space, but the launching of this 'bottle' into the cosmic 'ocean' says something very hopeful about life on this planet." Background The records are a time capsule.Īlthough neither Voyager spacecraft is heading toward any particular star, Voyager 1 will pass within 1.6 light-years' distance of the star Gliese 445, currently in the constellation Camelopardalis, in about 40,000 years. The records contain sounds and images selected to portray the diversity of life and culture on Earth, and are intended for any intelligent extraterrestrial life form who may find them. The antivirus should provide both continuous protection and on-demand protection against malicious software.įeaturing an on-demand scanner, "always on" real-time protection, and a continuously updated database of known malware, Comodo Antivirus provides superior protection against zero-day malware and other threats that your Mac may face. Mac users should install an antivirus software that can keep them protected even if there is a vulnerability in their Mac’s built-in security software. Because of this, it is prudent to install additional protection on your Mac in the form of antivirus software from a trusted provider. But recent studies have suggested that Mac malware is seeing enormous growth, and although Apple has increased security features and introduced Gatekeeper, which blocks unapproved software from running on your Mac without your agreement, Mac security features have been bypassed. Historically Macs have been considered safer than Windows PCs, and many Mac users have done without an antivirus software. Malware Protection for Mac Devices Do I Need Antivirus for Mac? Comodo Mobile Security for iPhone has all these features and more, and is available for free. Mobile security apps can ensure greater protection than the iPhone affords on its own, through features like hacked account alerts, identity theft protection, password management, safe browsing, and backups. This is a major advantage Apple has over its competitors as far as security is concerned, as evidenced by the issues the Google Play Store has seen with fake, malware-containing apps.ĭespite this fact, iPhone users would be wise to add additional security to their phones through a mobile security app. Because of this, the chances of one of these apps containing malware is very slim. Importance of Using Antivirus for iPhone DevicesĪs most iPhone users know, Apple takes a walled-garden approach to app publishing, allowing only approved apps into the App Store. Apple addressed these concerns in September 2019, stating that the vulnerabilities Google discovered had been exaggerated and were quickly patched once discovered. IPhone security has become a hot topic recently, with Google Security researchers alleging that they discovered major iPhone security flaws that allow the devices to be compromised. Virus Protection for iPhone Do Apple iPhones Need Antivirus Software Read More: What Does Antivirus Software Do? Heuristics is about detecting virus-like behavior or attributes rather than looking for a precise virus signature that matches a signature on the virus blacklist. Files run in Comodo containment are kept in a sandbox environment, separate from your operating system. If suspicious code is detected then the antivirus deletes the file or recommends it for containment. Heuristic detection describes the method of analyzing the code of a file to determine if it contains code commonly found in malware. Modify the code slightly, and the malware is rendered undetectable.Ĭomodo Antivirus also uses heuristic detection and containment to ensure that even unknown malware cannot compromise our users’ computers. Like a wanted outlaw in the old west, a cybercriminal can disguise a piece of malware to avoid detection. This process is executed quickly and is an essential feature of an antivirus software, but it is also easy for cybercriminals to evade. Specific detection works by scanning a file for a specific set of characteristics and checking these characteristics against a known list of malware. This is what most people think of when they think about how an antivirus works. The most basic detection process is known as specific detection. Most modern antivirus programs feature multiple scanning detection processes. Whenever you download or launch a file, an antivirus program scans the file for malware. But the thing with these editors is that you have to find a way to keep the focus and the selection when the user is clicking on all the buttons across the interface.īecause an iframe offers an isolated environment, this means that the focus or the selection is never lost when you are clicking outside of it. The other situation when iframes saved my life was when I had to build a WYSIWYG editor for a customer. It's supposed to be rendered in black on a white background."> The content you see here will never be affected by the CSS of its parent container. On a particular page, I needed to list them to let the user preview and choose one.īut to prevent the CSS of the current website from affecting the style of these templates, I figured out that using an iframe with the srcdoc attribute was the cleanest solution. In an application, a user could create emails and save them as templates. To illustrate how this isolation from the JavaScript and CSS is handy, let’s take a look at these two situations. The iframe can still behave in annoying or malicious ways - triggering a popup or autoplaying videos, for instance. Nevertheless, as you will see in this guide, the separation is not so perfect. That is one of the valid purposes to use an iframe: to provide a measure of separation between your application and the iframe content. Thus, it will be isolated from the JavaScript and CSS of the parent. What you must keep in mind when thinking about iframes is that they let you embed an independent HTML document with its own browsing context. Here is another example in which we display a button to tweet your webpage on Twitter: You may have crossed paths with it when you had to include a third-party widget (like the famous Facebook like button), a YouTube video, or an advertising section on your website.įor instance, the code below will display a 500px square with the Google homepage within: What is an iframe, and when do you use it?ĭevelopers mainly use the iframe tag to embed an HTML document within another. Finally, we’ll talk about how you can secure your iframes to avoid potential vulnerabilities. We’ll go through most of the features the iframe element provides and talk about how you use them, as well as how iframes can be useful for overcoming some tricky situations. To help you form your own opinion and sharpen your developer skills, we will cover all the essentials you should know about this controversial tag. Besides, it’s not that hard to secure them, so you won’t have to worry about your user’s machine becoming compromised. I believe that their bad reputation should not prevent you from relying on them they have many legitimate uses cases. Even though all modern browsers support them, many developers write endless articles advising against using them. The iframe element (short for inline frame) is probably among the oldest HTML tags and was introduced in 1997 with HTML 4.01 by Microsoft Internet Explorer. This is just an invention of the game’s designer. It has now become rivals with the Pennysylvania railroad, but the most significant difference between the two is that: B&O does not serve Atlantic City. The rail track then became similar to that of the Pennysylvania Railtrack. Later on, the railroads were extended from Baltimore to Washington, DC. It was the first standard carrier railroad built in 1827. The idea to construct this railroad was to connect the Baltimore port to someplace across the Ohio river. Railroadī & O stands for Baltimore and Ohio railroads. In 1968, the railroad got changed into New York Central. Pennsylvania railroads were considered the most extensive global railroad in terms of heavy traffic. The initial railroad connected Philadelphia and Pittsburgh.īut the railroads surrounding the region of New York, St.Louis, Washington DC, and Chicago. It is the “Standard Railroad of the World”. It is also abbreviated as PRR, and the common name is Pennsy. The Reading company sold off its rail holding to Conrail, including the Reading Seashore Line assets. The presence of several coal mines in these areas turned out to be a high profit for this rail track later in 1976. The reading railroad served the following areas – Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey, and Maryland. This rail track was initially constructed as a connector between Reading of Philadelphia and Pennsylvania. It is not pronounced Rea-ding, but it is red-ding. You need to correct your pronunciation here. The four Major Railroads in Monopoly US Editions are: Reading Railroad What are the 4 Major Railroads in Monopoly US? If they wait for some time, then they have to pay an extra 10 % interest. The new owner has the option either to pay off the mortgage amount immediately during acquisition or they can wait. So, the mortgage does not affect in case of selling the property. In that case, the other player needs to pay off the mortgage remaining with your Railroad to get the mortgage lifted. However, you can still sell it to any other players in the game. The basic rule is the more railroads you own, the higher your payable rent.īut the exception is: that when you land on a mortgaged railroad space, you are not liable for any rent. The rent for railroads depends on how many railroads or stations you own. Since they are excellent properties to own in the monopoly game, players are too inclined to hold them, but the rules for buying the railroads are pretty complex. They are a reliable source of cash in the game, and a player who owns all four railroads can prevent any opponent from the building and is positioned at 5th place on each side of the game board.ĭue to this unique positioning, the player can also land on a railroad wither by community chest card or dice roll chance. They yield enormous payoff percentages, and you can have the upper hand in the game if you own the railroads. You can buy one or two railroads or even you can buy three or four and it will be highly beneficial as acquiring more you will get more rents on them too and it can be the best strategy to win the game. The railroad space or stations in Monopoly are lucrative properties with a high number of visitors footfall. Let’s get started! What are Railroads in Monopoly? I will cover both US Railroads and the UK version of Railroads with their names, Rules, Cost, Rent, and more in this complete guide. In this post, I will discuss in-depth all you need to know about each of the Monopoly Railroads or Stations in the Game so that you are aware of the proper rules when you or someone lands during the game. These are some of the most popular spaces where players often land and you can think to strategically acquire in the span of the game.īut, to acquire and utilize them for winning, you need to know about Monopoly Railroad rules. The monopoly game has 4 well-placed railroads/stations on the Monopoly board. You could also use Emby's Parental Restrictions to hide groups as well such as XXX or Premium Channels.Winamp is a feature-rich and free M3U player. In Emby it's easy to use the new tag view to hide or only show certain groups. Each set of channels is already setup with groups/tags like Regional, Premium Channels, USA, Sports, Kids, XXX to NFL, NBA, NHA, MLB, NCAA, F1 Racing, VIP/PPV. Or maybe even better is to remove the channel numbers so if you already have OTA or cable tuners there will be no conflict and these channels will just fall into place behind them. That would be much better than a list of random channels that makes finding things hard. So if you're interested let me know and help me design a channel number plan that makes sense for the number of possible channels that will be available. Then all the other stuff can come after that. The first things will be the national list followed by the local/regional channels. I've also been putting together a list of US stations who broadcast for free over the Internet which I'll call FreeView, which range from PBS, Bloomberg, ION Plus, Chedder, Buzz, Charge!, Comet TV, Dabl, Decades to some regional CBS, NBC, ABC channels as well as CBSN National & Regional channel which in itself is a probably better than a lot of people get with OTA or even Locast before they went bust. I have all the channels you can watch for free from Plex, Pluto, Roku, Samsung, Tubi, Stirr, and a couple others. For those who don't want to subscribe to the same service I use there will still be other curated channels lists I can make available with lots of free content (see below). So two M3Us for most people which can both be loaded in Emby as separate tuners. The big channels to setup locally would be ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, PBS and then maybe a couple more if available. I' could probably do the major areas but everyone could do their own locals as there wouldn't be that many of them. If you guys like this I can break out different local regions to specific local m3u files like Philly.m3u, LA,m3u, Chicago, m3u, etc. This would be simple to automate to pull down a new m3u every day. If you like it, then I took the sting out of Live TV setup for you and all you need to do is signup for you own account and do a search/replace of the username and password in the streams. You would be able to load it in Emby along with the proper guides (2 right now) for nearly perfect matching. It won't have your credentials in the streams but it's all from one provider Mark turned me on to (new favorite). I could make this m3u file available to anyone running Emby that wants it. This way the master.m3u file is usable in Android Live Channels to VLC without a guide. It's nice to have a master list with everything in it that's already cleaned up. I'll keep all the channels I get via cable and OTA in the master list but will dedupe those channels when loading into Emby on my own system. I'm just about done my master list which I want to be nearly perfect but have been giving thought to doing a renumbering so locals/regions, then news, kids, premium channels, national, general sports channels followed by individuals like NFL, NBA, NHL, etc with XXX trailing up the rear. Is there any interest in this for you guys? I also remove the "duplicate" channels where you have one station broadcast multiple way like SD, HD, FHD, etc keeping only the highest resolution stream. Then of course is chopping the info and shopping channels. I also remove USA channels that are in Spanish. I remove VOD, 24/7 and radio stations as well as all the countries I don't need. Most sports channels have a 4 to 6 month window so they don't need to be loaded during the off season. I don't need NFL channels past January for example. I will make a change to turn off certain groups at different times of the year. I modified the m3u files to use the Emby Guide Data station ID numbers so I can load up Direct TV & DISH networks for 90% coverage of the channels I use which is currently at 335. You can switch to the channel tab and then change the view to list mode to clearly read them. These are impossible to read in Emby when you have about 1" for the channel name off to the side of the grid. Some also change the name of the channel to a descriptive name like this: Others either pass off or use NFL Sunday Ticket while others might have 10 to 15 NFL channels. Some providers setup a dedicated channel for each team but the channel is only active during the event. Sports packages tend to need the providers m3u and/or xmltv files.
